Natural Products Scandinavia, the Nordic region’s only dedicated trade show for the natural health, nutrition, beauty, and self-care market, returns to Malmo, Sweden on the 26-27 October 2014 for a third year.

Co-located with the Nordic Organic Food Fair, the venue provides a dedicated and focused environment to meet with buyers and sellers in the sector. Over 350 exhibitors and 4500 visitors are expected this year.

The show reported a significant 57% increase in attendance in 2013, attracting 290 exhibitors and 3,158 attendees from 34 different countries.

When it comes to buying organic, and understanding the importance of natural, sustainable lifestyles, Nordic consumers have been driving market growth for years.

This was reflected at the show edition in 2013, which saw an increase in visitors (including key buyers and managers from leading health stores, pharmacy chains, wholesalers and distributers) from across the Nordic region (86% of total visitors compared to 73% in 2012); whilst the number of buyers and retailers from both Sweden and Denmark almost doubled.

Natural Products Scandinavia was named Best International Launch at the UK’s Exhibition News Awards in 2013. Sam Sloan, marketing director at Diversified Communications UK, the show organiser said that the positive way the show has been received is beyond its greatest expectations.

“Thanks to continued support from across the industry, we now have a fantastic foundation from which to continuing building and developing the show for 2014,” she said.

The feedback received so far from exhibitors, visitors and the show’s Keynote Theatre seminar speakers have been overwhelmingly positive.

“We’re really pleased, as it has been a really good show and we’ve had a very busy stand. We’ll be back in 2014,” said Maja Sandberg from Swedish retailer Life Butiksdrift Sverige AB.

“We had a really great reaction to the brands, and especially our new lines,” said Keith Garden, managing director of Only Natural (Higher Living and Dr Stuarts). “We picked up two new distributors on the show floor, which will help us continue the strong growth we’re seeing in the Scandinavian market.”

“Of all the shows we’ve done, the reaction here has been the best,” said David Sherman, international business development director at Little Big Shot – Health Energy Drink.

“The whole event was an extremely positive experience for NATRUE, including the seamless organization. Scandinavia is the perfect setting for all things natural and organic – and we made some excellent new contacts during our stay,” said Julie Tyrrell, NATRUE director.

Nordic Organic Food Fair a welcome addition

Last year the Nordic Organic Food Fair was hailed a big success with nearly 90% of visitors rating the opening edition as excellent/good.

Co-located with Natural Products Scandinavia, the Nordic Organic Food Fair offered visiting retailers and foodservice professionals a vibrant showcase of healthy, sustainable, organic delicacies and speciality ingredients from around 100 international organic food and drink suppliers.

Nearly three in four visitors and over 60% of surveyed exhibitors stated that they would be back again this year when Nordic Organic Food Fair returns to Malmö on 26-27 October 2014.

Sourcing new products topped the list of most important reasons for attending (ahead of keeping up-to-date with new developments and finding new suppliers in this year’s visitor survey).

“One of our KRAV pavilion exhibitors actually got two large orders within 24 hours after the fair closed – which is superb! There was a good crowd, both in quality and numbers, and we have received a lot of requests from new customers,” said Johan Cejie from KRAV (Sweden).

“It’s been incredibly busy,” said Soil Association Certification’s trade relations manager Lee Holdstock. “There’s impressive growth in this region and a deep understanding of organic.”

“This is the best show that we’ve done in two years!  It has hugely exceeded all our expectations and we’ve already re-booked for next year,” said Max Wehrle, managing director at Estilo Sales Europe (Germany).
