BIOFACH and VIVANESS 2014 were again strongly supported by trade buyers and visitors with 42,445 visitors (41,794, 2013) from 135 countries (international share 44%) attending the 25th anniversary of the world’s leading organic exhibition in Nuremberg, Germany, 12-15 February.

The two events running side by side presented 2,235 exhibitors (2,413, 2013) introducing innovative and high-quality products from 76 countries (international share 70%) on a net area of 42,328 m².

The special focus in 2014 was on the future of the organic food industry and the key theme Organic 3.0. The top 5 visiting countries were Germany, Austria, Italy, France and the Netherlands.

Although some saw less visitors at times compared to previous editions, exhibitors gave a very positive response to show. Here are some comments collected by OWN: Helene Birk of Organic Denmark: “Made very good connections with retailers from Sweden, Holland, Germany, Whole Foods USA and Russian customers.”

Markus Pandur, Uhtco, Europe: “Quality of the buyers was very good and always get a good response despite number of visitors quieter on 3rd day.”

Seigo Okada, Japan Gold: “By 3rd day happy with quality and mix of new and existing customers  – always the best show for us as can meet our European clients.” Patricia Tranvouz of Sopexa France, organizer of the French pavilion:

“Everbody is happy, visitors like the cooking show and the suppliers are seeing a good quality of international visitors.”

Sylvain Dufour of Fruit D’Or Canada:  “Europe visitor numbers very good, but would have liked more Asian, international buyers; had a good show and is a great place to meet with our customers.”

Pana Barbounis, Pana Chocolate: “Had an excellent show again and met new distributors and retailers.”

Aurelie Servol of Les Jardins De Gaia: “Have been able to met most of our customers and met potential new buyers  – we’re happy with the show and will be here again.”

The anniversary guests were full of praise for the exhibition duo. 91% of the exhibitors – BIOFACH and VIVANESS together – rate their overall success positively, according to the result of the survey by an independent institute. 97% of the visitors were satisfied with the products offered at the two exhibitions.

Both at the congress and in the exhibition halls, exhibitors and visitors showed an intensive interest and commitment to the focus topic Organic 3.0, which had nine presentations. It was organized jointly by IFOAM, the international patron of the world’s leading exhibition, BÖLW (German Federation of the Organic Food Industry), the national supporting organization, and BIOFACH.
