As announced, NürnbergMesse Brasil and  Francal Feiras will launch this coming June 27-30 their joined trade fairs for organic products Bio Brazil Fair/BioFach América Latina. The largest business platform for the organic sector in the country, will be hosted at the Bienal do  Ibirapuera in  Sao Paulo.

Nine years ago BioFach América Latina and its sister event ExpoSustentat started in  Rio  de  Janeiro. The show then moved to Sao Paulo, becoming a gateway for exports, while Francal Feiras started BioBrazil Fair–  Agroecology, as  a  venue for  professionals operating in the Brazilian market. This important joint venture will contribute to the development of the sector by bringing together all players, from producers, processors and wholesale buyers, to retailers, professionals in  the  health and wellness sector and other related  industries  and  end consumers connecting  in  a single public event. Opening the  event to  the  public the last two days offers exhibitors the  opportunity  to  observe directly the  reactions of the consumer to their products.

Organic  foods  are  gaining increased importance in Brazilians households. A survey of  the  Brazilian Association of Supermarkets (ABRAS) revealed that  in  2011,  sales of organic products in the supermarket reached R $ 1.12 billion –  an  increase of  8% over the previous year. Around 250 producers, processors and suppliers of organic products will exhibit in an area of 7000 sq. meters. The majority of exhibitors will be Brazilian companies, or foreign firms represented by a Brazilian distributor. Peru has reserved a pavilion as result of a positive trade mission last fall, where government officials and entrepreneurs could see great potential and synergies in the organic and sustainable sectors in  both  countries. The  mix of Bio Brazil Fair |  BioFach America Latina reflects the broad range of products represents the industry: food (fresh, processed and  frozen foods, meats, juices and beverages, milk  and  dairy products, bread, cakes and pasta),  cosmetics (fragrances and  essences, creams, shampoos and soaps), fashion (jewelry, clothing, fabrics and accessories) and  production support (inputs, fertilizers, equipment, certification, consulting).
