The next edition of BIOFACH, the world’s leading trade fair for organic food, will expand by two exhibition halls, and product diversity, and provide an insight into the next generation of the organic industry when it takes place from February 14–17, 2018 in Nuremberg, Germany.
BIOFACH is joining forces again with its patron IFOAM – Organics International and the German Federation of the Organic Food Industry (BÖLW) to showcase the theme “Next Generation.”
Highlights of the exhibition will include the BIOFACH Congress, Worlds of Experience for olive oil, vegan products, and wine, and the BIOFACH Novelty Stand (located in Hall 8 for the first time), and Best New Product Awards. Over 2,950 exhibitors are expected, with around 250 firms from the natural and organic personal care sector taking part in the parallel event VIVANESS.
“Thanks to the addition of two extra halls (4A and 8) and therefore significantly more exhibitors, visitors will have the opportunity to discover and experience an even wider and more diverse range of organic products at our exhibition center in 2018,” said Danila Brunner, executive director of BIOFACH and VIVANESS.
"The world-leading trade fair promises a multi-faceted focal theme and a practice-oriented, fact-based congress as well as product diversity across ten halls (including VIVANESS). We are already looking forward to meeting and exchanging ideas with our customers, and to an inspiring next edition of the exhibition duo!” she added.
The organic industry’s first significant event of the year will focus on the theme “Next Generation.” Among other topics, industry members will discuss which ideas the next generation of the organic industry should use to further advance the organic movement in production and on the market, and how the generational transition can be shaped with success. Topics will include the political agenda of the new generation, passing the baton and supporting successors at companies, and trends among start-ups and in civil society.
The BIOFACH Congress and it's sister event the VIVANESS Congress form the premier knowledge transfer and networking event of the organic world. Together they bring industry representatives from around the world to discuss relevant and practice-oriented topics, learn from one another, and share ideas.
The BIOFACH Congress is divided into topics and forums including Sustainability, Politics, Science, and Specialized Trade.
The 2017 edition of the BIOFACH show in Germany last February welcomed a record 51,453 trade visitors, backed by a positive industry response from the exhibitors that said the fair had met or bettered their expectations.
The previous record was set in February 2015, when 48,533 visitors from 130 countries attended the fair.
People from 134 countries traveled this year to Nuremberg for this annual industry get-together, impressed with the range of products offered by the 2,785 exhibitors (259 at VIVANESS) from 88 countries.
Germany was the “Country of the Year, ” and a total of 8,125 people attended the industry and knowledge forums, which included over 120 different events.
