As announced, NürnbergMesse Brasil and Francal Feiras will launch this coming June 27-30 their joined trade fairs for organic products Bio Brazil Fair/BioFach América Latina. The largest business platform for the organic sector in the country, will be hosted at the Bienal do Ibirapuera in Sao Paulo.
Nine years ago BioFach América Latina and its sister event ExpoSustentat started in Rio de Janeiro. The show then moved to Sao Paulo, becoming a gateway for exports, while Francal Feiras started BioBrazil Fair– Agroecology, as a venue for professionals operating in the Brazilian market. This important joint venture will contribute to the development of the sector by bringing together all players, from producers, processors and wholesale buyers, to retailers, professionals in the health and wellness sector and other related industries and end consumers connecting in a single public event. Opening the event to the public the last two days offers exhibitors the opportunity to observe directly the reactions of the consumer to their products.
Organic foods are gaining increased importance in Brazilians households. A survey of the Brazilian Association of Supermarkets (ABRAS) revealed that in 2011, sales of organic products in the supermarket reached R $ 1.12 billion – an increase of 8% over the previous year. Around 250 producers, processors and suppliers of organic products will exhibit in an area of 7000 sq. meters. The majority of exhibitors will be Brazilian companies, or foreign firms represented by a Brazilian distributor. Peru has reserved a pavilion as result of a positive trade mission last fall, where government officials and entrepreneurs could see great potential and synergies in the organic and sustainable sectors in both countries. The mix of Bio Brazil Fair | BioFach America Latina reflects the broad range of products represents the industry: food (fresh, processed and frozen foods, meats, juices and beverages, milk and dairy products, bread, cakes and pasta), cosmetics (fragrances and essences, creams, shampoos and soaps), fashion (jewelry, clothing, fabrics and accessories) and production support (inputs, fertilizers, equipment, certification, consulting).
